Food banks rarely receive fully cooked protein — and that's exactly what families need most. The Smoking Pastor Project is building toward becoming the largest producer of fully cooked, prepackaged protein for food pantries in America.
Pulled pork. Shredded chicken. Brisket. Sealed, fully cooked, ready-to-heat — arriving where canned goods and dry staples already do, but with real meat on the plate.
They lost the truck. They found a bigger mission.
In August 2024, a donated $100,000 food trailer — the heart of the project's free-meal operation — was stolen from a church parking lot, 21 days after Jordan and Kati received it. Surveillance video captured the theft. The trailer was found gutted days later.
Instead of replacing it like-for-like, the Davises asked a harder question: what would do more good? The answer pointed beyond pop-up events — to the food pantries that rarely get protein. That pivot became the mission we're now proud to fund alongside them.

How does the donation actually work?
Every order placed through this page with code CAUSE10 triggers two things: you save 10%, and we (The True Board) set aside 10% of your subtotal to send to The Smoking Pastor Project. On the 5th of every month, we export the discount report from our Shopify, calculate the total, and Matt — our co-founder — sends the transfer via Smoking Pastor's donation portal at aplos.com. Every transfer is logged and the monthly total is reported here once the partnership goes live.
Why a manual process? Why not an app?
Two reasons. First, every Shopify donation app takes a cut — fees that should go to the mission, not to software. Second, manual means we own the relationship. We see the order. We do the math. We send the money. There's no middleman to misroute it.
Is The Smoking Pastor Project a real nonprofit?
Yes. The Smoking Pastor Project is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Carmel, Indiana, founded by Jordan and Kati Davis. You can verify them at smokingpastorproject.com. Their mission is to provide fully cooked, ready-to-heat protein meals to food pantries across America.
What if no one shops in a given month? Do you still donate?
Yes. For the first six months of this partnership, The True Board transfers a minimum of $50 to The Smoking Pastor Project every month — even if zero orders come through this page. The partnership is committed, not transactional.
Can I combine CAUSE10 with other codes or promotions?
No. CAUSE10 is non-stackable with any other discount code. This protects the partnership's economics so the 10% donation math always works cleanly.
